Actor officialy signs for last TNG film

The Star Trek franchise is boldly still going. Patrick Stewart, who plays Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, is on board for the 10th installment.

Stewart is a key signing; he`s the first crewmember Paramount Pictures chose to lock in before going after other Next Generation cast members.

The actor is also the biggest box office draw of the bunch, starring in July`s X-Men, which grossed $156.5 million.

The next Trek will be the fourth led by Stewart (others raked in more than $237 million), but it won`t blast off before potential strikes by actors and writers. (No films in Hollywood are expected to start shooting after April 1.)

Screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator) has done some work on the film but won`t be able to finish the screenplay before the deadline.

not good about film strikes. Not heard about that till now. Good doing another film but bet it is the last.
