This was an odd episode (which I think I must have missed first time around). It starts off just as the usual 'Monster of the Week' episode, but then it completely changes half way through with the introduction of 'Crewcut Man' (who Scully recognised as the killer of 'Deep Throat'), and the alien DNA from 'The Erlenmeyer Flask', and it becomes a major thread in the ongoing 'X-Files' Mytharc.
