Teenager Ruby Morris disappears and her mother, an eyewitness to a UFO sighting in her youth, believes her daughter has been abducted. Ruby`s brother, Kevin, provides the key, the conduit between Ruby and her abductors, as he jots down supposedly random zeros and ones on pads of paper.
At last - something of a human story in this, not least the suffering and anxiety of the mother to what her daughter could experience if she told her story.
Our kids really hated Scully in this, after she told the NSA that it was the boy who noted down the security satellite transmissions.
Altogether, though, I was left somewhat confused by the episode - why was the boy seeing the code? What was causing the severe heat burn - enough to melt glass? Why were the bikers altogether at the end (Lost Boys style!) when the daughter re-appeared?
Good to see Mulder's conflict about his missing sister, though.
Oh - btw - am I the only one who thinks that Gillian Anderson in season this looks a bit like Princess Diana?
