For those of you that liked this episode, don't hurt me. I thought it was awful. So boring. Changed the channel. Wasn't much action. All we saw was Daniel playing on the computer and O'Neill and Carter playing in ice. I give it a 3 1/2 out of 10.

I suppose for those that like the action, it was boring. I found it interesting because it was, again, character driven rather than action driven.
It also gave Daniel a time when he could be 'in charge' and come up with the answers and I liked that.

FYI, AT was hurt taping this one when she fell on the ice.

Cheers,

Hello guys!

I have one guestion about the episode Solitudes.
In the Czech TV Nova version of this episode in the scene at the very end delirious Jack calls for Sam instead of Sarah. It was a big surprise. I've seen this ep. before on satellite TV (RTL2) and in that version Jack calls for Sarah. Are there so different copies here or it was only a bad translation of the Czech version? I think that this only word changes completely the effect of that scene.
What do you think?

If the episode is dubbed then I am sure it was a mistake here. I can't imagine the makers releasing two versions under any cicrumstances like that. Almost certainly bad translation.

I'm with padders. It almost has to be a bad translation. When Jack called for Sarah it was referencing his story at the beginning of the episode and how the thought of Sarah got him through his ordeal.

Cheers,

Ok, Martouf, nobody's perfect.
Well, I'd like to apologize in advance for bad spelling or bad English (I'm not a native English speaker).
Are you feeling better now?

Ok closing this thread don't want any fighting. Vera, ask the question again if you want more comments but i am pretty sure (well 99.9% sure) it is a translation error, and a very bad one at that!

I actually had a question about this episode as i just watched it today after receiving my season one dvd box set a few days ago..

when carter was diging around the DHD she uncovered some of those snake head guys (jaffa warriors) how long do you think they survived in the antartic for so long ?

They were frozen. Being encased in ice tends to keep bodies in tact...

Given they were recently able to defrost an entire woolly mammoth somewhere far north, it is clearly possible to freeze and "survive" intact. My bigger question would be when did that Jaffa get encased?

I think the BIG part of this episode was the introduction of the second gate (cue lots of use in late S3 and then into S4 and S5). Possibly also the use of seismology for detecting alternate gate usage too.

True. They use that particular technique several other times. Like in Touchstone.
