Lian Hearn - The Tales of the Otori

I discovered the first one on audio book, and really enjoyed it knowing nothing about it. I've read 2 and 3 and wasn't so keen. I had no idea there are five, I might check them out after I finish the book I am currently reading.

    Dragonball Z Live Action Movie

It is set in Mexico and Goku is a Caucasion school boy. If they HAD to have a school based story a Saiyaman movie would frankly have been awesome, chance to do something original without destroying the series. Also people across the globe could rejoice in funny poses and Superman jokes.

    Tales from Earthsea

It's better than the Sci-fi channel one but not by that much. Everyone is still white, and the plot is very incoherant being a combination of two of the later books(Farthest Shore & Other Wind) . I suspect if you haven't read the books you'd get confused, and if you have you'd get annoyed. It's...

    Pricing confusion

The platinum edition is the secound director's cut. There are some scenes that have been re-animated, and other changes. Overall I think there are three reworks eps spread in the series. For your info here is a link to the press release for the UK box: It's worth noting in the set is one disc extra.

    Perfect Blue

Ask your local video store to order it for you. Most will, Perfect blue comes as an individual and in the UK anyway bundled with Millenium Actress or Akira for not much more than the prive of an individual DVD.

    Heroes 1.01: Genesis

Actually Hiro's English level makes sense. In Japan English is required at school, but it tends to be a rather dry academic study rather than practical. There's also a lot of short English phrases around so it's not unusual to be able to read short bits of English well but not be able to...

    Battlefield Eight (short excerpt)

I was in the mood for something with spaceships! Hope this isn't too mean! That right there is an info dump, do we need to know that? Can't you make it shorter if you really need it? I want to concentrate on stuff blowing up. I notice halfway down that this is first person. I'd not think in...

    Beginner's anime

We only get a small percentage of all the transformers series they made. There are quite a few series more in the original tone about, but sadly the only way you can get them is fan subbed or fan dubbed.

    Beginner's anime

Perfect Blue is amazing, but if you though Spirited Away Perfect Blue is odder but you may like it since it's set in the real world. Connavar> The giant robot thing is a whole genre, Macross isn't the only giant robot show. It's like babarian with sword books, there's a lot of them all...

    Self-Publishing

Well I think very few people outside the fanzine circuit physically do it themselves ( does anyone still photocopy and staple themselves?!). Self publishing is when you pay yourself for your books to be published, rather than your book being published by a publishing company who shares the...

    Romeo and Quasimodo in Space

There are a ton of anime based on books as far, a lot based on series on Light novels ( which as far as I can tell are novella size.) Slayers and Captain Tylor were books first. If we are talking "Western" books only, there are quite a few. Howl's Moving Castle, Earthsea, Lensman. I think a...
