One doesn't have to go into SF to find real-life examples. Anarcho-Communism of the late teens in Russia? Israeli Kibbutzim of the 1950s? For science fiction, you might try the post-apocalyptic variety (for instance, Alas, Babylon).

That's fair. I am looking forward to getting to SNL in 13 years. Actually, I'm looking forward to lots of things.. but if there's anything I've learned since starting the Journey, it's that there's always interesting stuff in any era. :)
