    great site for Fanart

Ho hum ... There are these very good avatars. Mostly from Amoka, but some other ones too. These are some of favourites, from the same site, but there all from ASOIAF's legendary past. And these are from the card game.

    Most gorgeous bookcovers

The artist is Mick Van Houten, and the books are the Lyonesse trilogy by Vance ... perfect in a word ... I wanna be in that world!!! :p

How much of a geek are you?

I did this a while back ... a Major Geek was my score, iirc.

    Favourite moments in the films?

I said in another thread, though mordbid in theme, I can never tear my eyes away from Boromir's death ... gaaah! Plus in the third film when Sam is carrying Frodo up the mountain of fire.

    Dune

I've read the House Corrino, Harkonnen and Atriedies ones, they were good editions to the Dune world certainly .. not brilliant, though they were readable, i've not read any of the other ones thoough.

    great site for Fanart

Amoka is genius ... it is known! I'd post some more links, but theres that silly 15 post rule ... gah. Shortly ...

    Brutality of War

Starship Troopers is hard on millitry sci fi, not really brutal, but it pays close attention to war. As does the Forever war by Haldeman, though thats more on the effects of returning soldiers ... Ender's Game and the consequences of Ender Wiggum's actions certainly. Sure there are other's...

I have Robin Hobb's books on my must read list. Are they any good?

Thats was brilliantly done, it created such an intimate relationship, plus as we saw Fitz rear Nighteyes from a pup too, an extra special bond.

What was the WORST movie you've ever seen?

Re: Worst film seen... Just saw Hostel before .... * shudder * no comment.

    King Rat

You can't go wrong with King Rat, seriously, it's great stuff.

    Best of the three?

The Fellowship .... its where it all started, its the most faithful, it had Sean Bean in, the EE film is an incredible experience too, the emotion of Boromirs death is magnified ten fold with the extra scenes, the Start prologue is jaw dropping etc. Though I think it was just the event of...

    Stuck in a rut

Piers Anythony and his Xanth sereis??? In quantity they nearly match Pratchett, but Piers does like his puns .. a bit too much.

    What we're reading in May...

Nearlt finished Three Hearts and Three lions by Poul Anderson. Its certainly not as good as the Broken Sword, it just hasn't got that sense of the epic that TBS had, it shows it in glimmers, but not really enough. Though that minor niggle aside its still a great book, which i've enjoyed reading.

    Robert Holdstock

I've read Lavondyss and The Hollowing, and I had exactly the same problem with the second one, though after about 50 pages it all started getting weirder and weirder, which was good! It was loss of normality that really hooks me in, that feeling of going deeper and deeper into the wood, while...

What is the hardest game you ever played?

To be honest Homeworld 2 has some really hard missions, I just could never get the right balance of aggresive ships and marine transports that could capture enmy cruisers and turn the balance. One mission rather unfairly threw you against a dozen battlecruisers all at once ..... I only has...
