Having read your comments, I agree with you. Like I said to TEiN, this isn't the rewrite I had planned to start, but one I found from about a year ago. I just wanted to see if this was good enough, or close to being good enough. I'm thinking of changing the starting point of the story anyway...

In the first chapter of a book, how much do you think there is to be gained from not introducing the character immediately? Is it better to just use the character's name for the description/action, or describe them as 'the boy,' 'the woman? and build up to releasing their name as information?
