I am about 20% finished of this book. At this point it is quite tedious for me and I thought about giving up a few times, but i will stick it through to the end.
I think it's the names of people and places that bug me the most about the story. It seems like Sanderson just quickly put letters...
I originally thought the person who torched the captured Biters was Allen (the guy from Tyreese's group who fought with Tyreese) in an attempt to frame Tyreese and get rid of him. But i don't think so, because Woodbury would probably exile the whole group rather than just Tyreese.
If I paid to play a game and then have to wait a half hour or longer in a queue to play it every time I wanted to.... I would be pissed.
Sim City? No thank you.
This episode was my favorite of the season so far. Love the portrayal of the Morgan character, and the bonding between Michonne and Rick/Carl.
My only problem with the episode is the whole thing with the hitchhiker. That was cold! I felt really bad for him.
This season is just great so far! There are a few things that bother me, such as the Andrea/Governor scenes, but overall I am blown away by how much better this season is from Season 2.
It's hard to give any predictions since the show is very unpredictable by nature, but we can tell that there...
Anything that is not courting Andrea.
On a side note, I did watch a preview for the episode this Sunday, and it looks like The Guv will be doing very interesting things this week. :)
I am very interested to find out what happens to Maggie and Glenn at Woodbury. I have read the comics, and I know what could potentially happen, but I find it unlikely AMC would approve what happens in the comics for TV.
Can't wait for Sunday
I am not sure how I feel about how they are developing The Governor. Every episode I keep getting disappointed in his character because he hasn't really actually done anything interesting yet.
This episode was awesome. Finally something interesting is happening in Woodbury with the walker gladiator games and Michonne booking it, and Rick has gone on a crazed zombie-killing rampage.
My only problem with the show this season so far is the relationship between Rick and Carl. It's...
A Song of Ice and Fire - GRRM
Farseer Trilogy - Robin Hobb
Mistborn Trilogy - Brandon Sanderson
Codex Alera - Jim Butcher
Riyria Revelations - Michael Sullivan
I just watched the season 3 trailer too. It looks awesome, but I'm a bit worried about the Governor character. Kirkman has stated that they will basically mirror the Governor character from the comic books for the show, but based on the preview he already looks softer than in the comics.
That's the only thing that bugged me about this episode. Lori all but told Rick that he should kill Shane... and when he did, she bugs out. I guess she could've had a change of heart, but she must realize that he was a huge danger to keep around.
As a newcomer, I would suggest the Dark Elf trilogy by RA Salvatore. The first book in the series is called Homeland. It's a very easy read with a lot of action... very fun.
I would say Lord of the Rongs would be the first book to get me into this genre... but what actually got me interested in fantasy/sci-fi was the Final Fantasy game series.
Here is part of my personal list... sorry if there are repeats, but i haven't gone through this entire thread yet. I'm sure these titles are familiar to any fantasy fan anyway :)
Brandon Sanderson
Mistborn Trilogy
- Mistborn (The Final Empire)
- The Well of Ascension
- The Hero of Ages
