    Mass Effect 3

Almost exclusively about the inclusion of a homosexual romance option. There has been a little criticism about the ending as well, but primarily the issue seems to be "ONOES MANLOVE!". What an accepting world we live in.

    Why do they do it?

Anyone else surprised that the thread has reached a debate about whether piracy should be classified as theft or another type of crime, rather than a it's fine, no it's bad, argument? Anywho, some food for thought: How many of you–in particular those who are violently opposed to piracy–have...

    SF vs. Sci-Fi: A Poll

Absolutely indifferent. Hadn't realized it was that important.

    Why do they do it?

Morality is relative. And you seem pretty entrenched in your view there, so surely it wouldn't be that surprising to see people on the other end of the spectrum.

    Why do they do it?

It's pretty simple really. They do it because they can. There are next to no repercussions for your average pirate. The authorities focus on the companies that facilitate it rather than the uploaders or downloaders. Hell, if the shut down of megaupload and the years of attempts against tpb have...

What Game Are You Currently Playing?

Haha, I think that's about the point where I finally gave up. It just felt so depthless to me.

What Anime and Animation are you currently watching?

In my opinion...yes! It's quite dark in parts–think Death Note–and tends towards a noir-ish feel, and I luuuuurvvveddd it. That being said, I know some people had issues with the show not really going into explicit detail regarding the hellgate/contractors, and the inconclusive nature of the...

What Anime and Animation are you currently watching?

Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor @Warren Paul - Steins;Gate is great. I also recommend Chaos;Head. The anime adaptions were made by different companies but the original VNs were both done by 5pb. and Nitroplus.

Orb Sceptre Throne - Out January 19th

Yupyup. He definitely is addressed as such in RotCG, and almost certainly elsewhere as well. Can't think of any other examples though.

Really? I honestly abhorred that game.

    The chronicles word counter!

Title: Blood and Memory Genre: Fantasy - I wouldn't quite classify it as high. Word Count: 4,822 of a projected 12k. Status: Getting there. Title: The End of Silence Genre: High Fantasy Word Count: 12,778 of a projected 250k Status: Prologue done. First chapter nearly done. On temporary hold...

    internal thoughts

I would've sworn GRRM used both: putting the thoughts in italics but also having the ', he thought,' attached to some of them. I could be wrong though; it's been a while. But more on topic, I personally favour writing thoughts as you would dialogue and just italicizing them. I find he...

With the NDA lifted I can finally talk about The Old Republic MMO

Endgame isn't really an issue. If you look at the leaked notes for the next few months patches there are a lot of new operations coming out. As well, there are a number of new warzones and open world pvp zones in the works. I'm enjoying TOR as a casual MMO, but personally I'm looking forward to...

    Grimm: Season 1

I'm up to episode nine (I think) and I'm quite enjoying it. Monroe is a great character :D.

That actually makes me want to read one of her books now, if only to find one of these teeth descriptions :D.

    Steven Erikson vs Robert Jordan

Jordan is pretty easy to read. Not too many PoVs, simple plot etc. The story does, however, slow down a lot around book six. And, personally, I've come to hate most of the PoV characters :D Erikson, on the other hand, is rather full on. Huge complex plot lines that carry across the entire...

What books to lure people into trying SF+F?

I agree that Feist is a good starting point for fantasy. Alternatively I'd suggest Trudi Canavan's Black Magician Trilogy, any of Sara Douglass's series (personally I loved The Troy Game & The Crucible) or The Guardian Cycle by Julia Gray.
