    31.08: The Hungry Earth

Missed posting about this before seeing part two But it was a good 'set-up' episode. Cheers, daveac

    31.09: Cold Blood

Good to watch a two-parter where the second part isn't a let-down - but for all that I enjoyed the story - it was the last few minutes that really made it for me. Gives a whole new meaning to the final episode title. :-( Cheers, daveac

    31.06: The Vampires of Venice

Mostly enjoyed it but the humour (which was good) changed it from a 'scary' episode into a sort of 'romp' Top notch prduction values on the 'historic' look and mostly an entertaining episode. We've done both a Review Episode and a Commentary on this already :-) Cheers, daveac

    31.02: The Beast Below

A solid episode rather than great. It gave the companion a chance to shine - 'Bonny Scot brings down the English monarch' :-) Seemed a little like Gridlock (inverted) where there the 'creature' (Face of Boe) was above - keeping the Humans safe below. Cheers, daveac

    The Eleventh Hour.... SO????

I loved it. It was a great start to this new era of Doctor Who. The story was good enough and the 64 minutes allowed time for us to get to know the 11th Doctor and Amy a little. There were a couple of niggles - the spaceships & this 'coming threat' - I mean the world could have ended in...

The Role of SF in Film

'I ventured that William Gibson had practically invented the concept of "cyberspace", but it became obvious that neither he nor anyone in attendance knew who Gibson was and, consequently, couldn't relate to the idea.' Not heard of William Gibson? that does seem strange. Not a lot to add...

Has anybody ever left the theater in the middle of a movie because it was so bad?

Not at the Movies - but the only DVD I've bought that I couldn't make it to the end - was Sahara - terrible. Cheers, daveac

    Regenerations

Well the Timelords gave The Master a complete new set (or at least promised him a complete new set) during the Time War - so it seems to be an 'imposed' limit not a natural one. With the Timelords - for all practical purposes - being out of existence then I would think the limit doesn't apply...

Your 'top-5' Sf-Fi books (no fantasy books please)

Thanks for the comments. The science book doesn't ring a bell - most of the science I read is about 'the very large' not the small. ie. Space & Time Cheer, daveac

    John Wyndham

Yep! Count me in as another big fan. Looking forward to the re-make of 'Day of the Triffids' - although I though John Duttine was great in the 1980's version on TV. Cheers, daveac
