The Desert Spear or The Daylight War? Either way your in for pretty much the same book split in two.
I know how you feel. But with it only being a 5 book series I'm determined to finish it, even if I don't enjoy it anywhere near as much as the first book. Though I really hope he improves things...
Yeah, Peter V. Brett really does take it in a different direction after the first book. It almost seems like he worked on the first book for years planning the series as a trilogy and then when the first book sold well they changed it to a 5 book series. Which left him deciding to add tons of...
The Warded Man is probably my favorite book in quite awhile. I've had the paperback on my shelf for many years, but with the switch to e-books there are allot I haven't gotten to. But I just finished The Desert Spear last night and some things have been eating away at my brain.
I found Jardir's...
I still have a few of his books on my shelf I haven't read yet. I haven't really kept up with John Grisham's releases in the last few years. I may have to look into that later. The Firm was good though, so I hope you enjoy it Brian.
I had preferred physical books up until last christmas. After Borders went out of business I started getting books from Amazon. While there is a local Barnes & Noble, it's in a very busy place that is hard to find any parking spots. So I bought a Barnes & Noble Nook Touch. I do miss my physical...
I might have been a bit confused by "hose pipe" too. I live in Illinois, we usually just call it a hose.
I've read quite a few British authors and I don't think I remember any issues other than the usual spelling differences. If different words are used, it's usually stuff I already know. I...
This is a really good series. The comedy is good too. The interaction between the the main character and his dog is always funny. This has become one of my favorite series and I definitely recommend it to others.
I actually came across this book not to long ago while searching for Douglas Hulick's new book and saw he has a quote for The Alchemist of Souls. It sounded real interesting and I thought I should read it soon. Perhaps even sooner now.
I enjoyed the two Dragon trilogies and the two Exiles books. To me it felt like there should be another Dragon trilogy or two. Another for Pol, and another for all those kids.
Though I can't say I'm exactly the happiest about her never finishing the last Exile book. I wish she had finished it...
Shades of Grey was a very good book. I just hate that instead of getting the next two books year after year, I read the second one won't be out until like 2013. I hope that's wrong because it really left me wanting to know what happens next.
I think it is a very fun and funny series. I just got done reading the latest book in the series. It is very interesting reading about solving crimes in the BookWorld. Or characters coming out of the BookWorld into the RealWorld. I certainly recommend the series if you like comedy with crime...
My Mom has a Kindle and she really loves it. She takes it with her pretty much everywhere. I've been thinking about it for quite awhile. I have two bookshelves that are more than full. So it would be convenient to have hundreds or thousands of books in my hands.
But I'm kind of having a hard...
I also second Kim Harrison (if you mean her). Her urban fantasy series is certainly one of the best. I'd say it's one of my favorites for urban fantasy along with Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.
Well, I'm dead in the water. I only have 2059 words written. I was hoping I might just take a day off or something and then be fine. But my motivation seems to be non-existent. I don't know what is wrong with me this year. I can't stay focused on the page for very long. I'm wondering if I made a...
1, 699 done. I don't think I was ever this slow last year. I think I've gotten busier since last year. I better work on being faster or I might be in trouble.
Started 49mins ago here. Now if I only had a plot, villians, and knew more about the main characters...Oh well, I'll figure it out in the morning. I was going to start at midnight but maybe I should work some more on ideas.
Because most of us won't write at all without a defined goal set by someone else. Before I did Nanowrimo last year I had written 3000 words on a high fantasy novel and 600 words on an urban fantasy novel. Then I wrote 50k words doing Nanowrimo. It's true my story and characters sucked because I...
