DISCUSSION -- March 2018 -- 75 Word Story Challenge

Graymalkin -- This lighthearted adventure is certain to raise a smile.

Heijan Xavier -- This dramatic account of crime and punishment explores conflicting emotions.

Shyrka -- This stirring tale of battle illustrates the way in which we attribute our own feelings to inanimate objects.

Mr Orange -- This touching variation on an old ballad portrays the sensation of longing.

@TheDustyZebra .... Per Aspera .... Be warned don't read too much into why anything that moves per aspera.

Groan Dusty! .... I was fortunate not to be drinking my coffee when I got to that last line. :D

I'm out!
Too many words :(

Disqualified - walks off into bleak night staring grimly at his feet

Thanks! I sure hated having to go after Mr O, though. But I had to post before work sidetracked me, so I couldn’t risk waiting for a few more entries between me and the winner.

@Graymalkin .... The Birthday Present .... Be careful when you give steam driven presents they might lead to some really scary results.

Graymalkin, welcome to Chrons and the 75 word challenge. That was an impressive first entry. I found myself chuckling. I believe that's a good sign.

@Heijan Xavier .... Apology Accepted .... A story that leaves you wondering about both justice and forgiveness.

@Shyrka .... A Captain's Duty .... A story that brought tears to my eyes. A captain and a ship who do their duty.

Well done girl. Well done indeed.

@Mr Orange .... Untitled ....
A poem which calls for the help the world needs.
Happy am I to bring a smile nolens volens. Going by some of the comments above, the next challenge is making sure the recent web problems I've been experiencing don't prevent me from voting...ahem. Although, never been beaten by an emoji. Hmm...

Not sure what platform you’re writing on, but if you have access to Scrivener, its word count is excellent and far superior to Word.

pH

I've got it on my laptop but very rarely use it. I think I'll make a try with it cos Word let me down this time

Aargh! Only a bit more than two hours left and we're short eight entries. OH, our usually trusted hazelrah, Jackwinabox57, Paranoid Marvin, Pedro del Mar, Phyrebrat, The Judge and Ursa major haven't submitted yet, and a couple of them regularly cut the timing close…

I'm in, for what it's worth.

I had real problems with this one, not least as I really wanted to pay homage to the George Brown Cardinal Archbishop of Lima anecdote -- no doubt apocryphal but a jolly good story! -- but that brought it well over 100 words. Still, I'm in, unlike some other slackers *cough, HB, cough* I could mention.

I'm in. By yesterday without any ideas I had accepted I would miss this month. Then a shred of an idea came yesterday afternoon, and an hour ago the rest of it. But it was long, and not much time to cut it down. I thought I'd miss the deadline for sure.
