Will we ever see the Amber series on the bigscreen?

This is the question I have seen pop up around the interwebs and I have no idea if it is likely to happen.

I think the technology is there but I have no idea about the availability of the rights.

Does anyone know who currently owns the rights? Do we think there is enough interest to get it made?

Ever since Avatar and the LOTR movies I have hoped for some filmmaker to announce it's a go.
 
I've been searching a lot for this very information, and basically there isn't anything out on the web since June or July 2016. I did find a web page with a logo for a potential series, but no real information otherwise. Frustrating to get a big splash, then nothing for a year and a half. :(
