Discussion -- January 2018 -- 75 Word Challenge

@Glen .... Spring .... Here we have a bittersweet tale of innocent hope tinged with a shadow of despair and inevitability.

Glen, that was a little gem of a story. It serves up a smorgasbord of emotion in 75 short words.
 
@CTRandall .... Flea .... Is a story of the prequel to an apocalypse which reminds us that not only good things come in small packages.
 
Not sure why but I am really struggling this month. I have two efforts at the moment but rather than choosing which one I like best, I find I am pondering which one do I dislike the least? I think that is enough to tell me to try again!
 
I think I have finally hit on an idea... Let's see if I can actualize it...

And for those who are also on the Character Creation thread, it will have nothing to do with a futuristic psychotic wrestler...

@Bob Senior .... Plan B .... a tale which tells of an escape that leads to a perfect place to start over.

Hey Bob good to see you post and you've written a good story. It's nice to see a story that runs from Revelation to Genesis; or it might be the form of a new heaven and a new earth.
 
Thanks Parson, I thought that I would never get it done. I rewrote the entire story five times, finally settled for this version.

You can always enter something. Maybe something on the line of: Calliopenjo was on the last Rocket to leave the post-apocalyptic earth. 60, 59, 58, ..... 3, 2, 1. Blast off! :sneaky:;)

@Justin Swanton .... The Last Vagabond .... the story helps us to understand that everything changes in the Apocalypse.

@HoopyFrood .... Mirror Signal Manoeuvre .... this tale reminds us that we will have to be in training for the end times.

Bob Senior -- With a wry tone, the author relates an ancient story to modern times.

Justin Swanton -- This near-future dystopia sounds a warning knell of the fragility of society.

HoopyFrood -- This action-packed adventure ends in an ironic way.

Old_Man_Steve2016 -- The author creates an apocalyptic vision for the purpose of a comic conclusion.

Skyrka -- This emotional story shows us how sacrifice can be stronger than survival.
 
Ta Parson and Victoria. My piece projects - with a little SF horror overbrushing - the end result of current demographic trends in Europe. 'Post-apocalyptic' isn't necessarily just ruins and barbarity. It can also be the definitive extinction of a way of life and its replacement with something one finds inherently repugnant.
