Are there any cons coming up (worldwide) that you're thinking of attending? Big, small, local, distant, I just thought it'd be cool to start getting a list together :D

I was planning to be at FantasyCon 2018, but it clashes with GayRomLit in Virginia, and I've been meaning (and failing) to attend GRL for two years on the bounce now. I may have to do Nine Worlds instead.

I'm also thinking about EMAC - Exhibition of Mythic Arts and Crafts - EMAC 2017 - which is more of an art thing than a books thing.

Maybe the SciFiWeekender - Welcome To Sci-Fi Weekender - The Ultimate Sci-Fi Event - too?

How about you, Chrons? What are you planning to attend?

I'm headed to the San Francisco Writer's Conference in Feb 2018. That's the only one I have in stone right now.

I try to go to BristolCon, now that I live so close to it. Otherwise, saving up for the big Chrons get-together, across the Irish Sea, in 2019.
Would love to go to Nine Worlds, though. Just a question of time and money for hotel. Probably not this year, but there's a couple of cons in mainland Europe which have caught my eye.

I had planned to go to Sledge Lit in Derby this Saturday but have had to cancel.

Never managed a literary con yet. Some damn thing always seems to pop up.

I'm probably going to be taking my daughter to the anime con in Cardiff in Feb, other than that may look at trying to get to some others next year.

I'm already booked up for Eastercon in Harrogate next year.
Not sure about the Dublin/Belfast shindig in 2019 - it sounds great but it's a long way off yet (or seems that way at least).

I'm not sure about some of the others next year (except that I'll definitely be heading North - there's concerts around Sheffield & Manchester I'm booked up for) but have a couple of possible things before Christmas:
I might go to the BFS Christmas party in London (Fri 8th December)
I also might be in town for some computer nerd stuff around the 12-14th, but not 100% sure yet.

I'm sure I read something about an event around North Queensferry and I've been planning a pilgrammage of sorts up there anyway so that might be on the cards too as soon as I can remember what it is and when it is...

There's a tonne of Cons that I'd love to go to, but probably won't make. Normally, AJ Dalton's list is pretty accurate: UK conventions and festivals: scifi, fantasy, horror and comicbooks

I'm going to be a panelist at Boskone 55 in February 2018 - for those on the East Coast in the USA, this is a great con which always has good guests. This will be my 4th year, and second as panelist. :)

Money permitting, I also want to go to the New England SCBWI conference in April (Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators); I have a lot of kid lit friends who go to that and it's a lovely catch up and networking event.
