in all honesty (and I may have to run for cover here) I didn't think that the first few books were too bad. Rregrettably it then turned into soft porn Mills and Boon with added BDSM... no thanks

I had a bash at reading it this morning but sorry, I think it was the name choice you had for main protag, Basil.
I kept thinking of Fawlty Towers and picturing him as John Cleese.
Even when the ghost thingy was taking his life force I was waiting for him calling out for Manuel! :eek:
