Nope. It was Aldur who decided that Belgarath had to train him. The question was: why Beldin was pissed off on Belgarath ?
 
Remembering the scenario from Belgarath the Sorceror, the first time Belgarath met Din was by the river. Belgarath was looking for building stone in the forest, and sensed someone hidden in the trees. He asked whoever it was to come out, saying that he wouldnt hurt him. Din didnt think that Belgarath could have hurt him. Din was in a bad mood because he was looking for that humorous fellow in the cart. He had been following its trail, but the wheel ruts had disappeared. Din had to reason out the location of where he had gone. This had put Din in a very bad mood.
