August 2016 100 Word Anonymous Challenge - Discussion Thread

Like a mystery wrapped in an enigma, it's another entry.

Untitled 1 -
Taking anonymity to new heights, this untitled piece tells the tale of a symbiotic - possibly parasitic - entity moving from host to increasingly familiar-sounding host until they find one capable of taking them home.

"Prison...?" (sci-fi or fantasy)

Oh my. I'm afraid to think of what unspeakable things are going to be featured in the stories. Cover your eyes PARSON, it's going to be a gritty night.

I'm going to flip a coin to see if I want to look at the other stories. Even if I don't post a tale.

(flip - spin - lands) Uh -oh........:cautious:

[Expletives muttered while stomping out excess frustration]

I had an idea just before falling asleep a few nights back, but didn't write it down, and NOW! When I was thinking about attempting it! GONE!!!!!! POOOF! No more!

I'm only entering if I get my idea back. Because it was brilliant. An unexpected angle on the theme. Brilliant. And gone.

*sulks*

Other entries are good too. No way to compete with out my brilliant idea, that's now GONE.
Teach me to sleep.
[Strong expletive] sleep only ruins things anyway. [Expletive] body needing its [expletive] sleep. Who does it think I am anyway? Human? Bah!

That happens to me so often. I promised myself that I'd write down all my ideas straight away. Do I do it? No! Do I remember them? No! Do I promise myself I'll definitely do it next time? Yes! Do I do it? No!

*Axe crunches against wood, door shatters* Heeeeere's Story!

Assault on Blood Island Prison -
A rip-roaring tale of a prisoner waiting to be rescued by their lady-love. Who handily happens to be a ferocious, eight-foot feline. Well, the lionesses do do the hunting...

Coming thick and fast now!

Father's Day
- This intriguing story paints a vivid picture of a future world where society's progenitor has been imprisoned for crimes unknown.

Was there not a -firm suggestion - that all submissions are equipped with a title? If there is more than one untitled story it makes voting - and guessing, I suppose, though I'm bad enough at that that it shouldn't affect me much - hazardous.

The missing title has been corrected thanks to the awesome editing powers of the moderators. I'll insist on every entry having a title from now on.

Also, new stories!

A Place to Rest - A condemned prisoner is taken to the block to be beheaded. Unknown to his executioners, this supernatural creature has no fear of death, savouring the freedom the axeman's stroke will bring. That is, until it awakens to find it has been buried 'alive'...

Houdunnit - A cleverly-titled tale, this first-person piece speaks of a mysterious entity whose unspoken crimes are simply a means to an end - a reason to be incarcerated - all in the hope of finding an entertaining puzzle of a prison. Their latest jail, however, is not to their liking.

Fasionably late, but gracious as always.

Lover's Promise -
This song of two lovers, separated by imprisonment, and the lengths they are prepared to go to to stay together.

Resistance is futile. You will be a-story-lated.

Acension Cubed -
An alarming story of a future where mankind, helpless at the hands of a voracious, all-powerful invader, chooses imprisonment over annihilation.

From the shadows it comes...

Dejuvenation - In a world where aging can be controlled and growing old is optional, an new form of punishment is used.
