What does being added to a Twitter list mean?

A Twitter list is a curated group of Twitter users. You can create your own lists, or subscribe to lists created by others, or be added to lists owned by others. Viewing a list timeline will show you a stream of Tweets from only the users on that list without requiring that you follow them. You cannot Tweet to a List though, you can only read their Tweets.

When you follow hundreds of Twitter accounts it is a good way to organise the accounts i.e. you could put all the published writers into one List, all the editors in another, all the Chrons members in another. If you only want to read Tweets only from editors then you just look at your editor List. Looking at other people's Lists is a good way to find new interesting accounts to follow.

Anya, either it's people who 'know' you, like Chrons members, personal friends, or blog followers, or else it's people who've seen your tweets and added you to lists like 'writers' for instance. I've been added to a few writing/ publishing lists by strangers. Just means they think you're interesting enough to keep an eye on. Or they're going to sell you something. :D

They're going to have a hard time selling me anything. I'm probably more delighted than I should be about being featured on another author's blog. It's just a bummer that she's taken the post I forgot to put the blog link on. (The ad has the address)

One of them is a gender diversity movement in the Isle of Man
