Ooooh, I'm on pins and needles. I checked my Submittable account and it still shows "received." Or perhaps they are working their way down the list alphabetically?
Mine's still in received too. According to folks over at the AbsoluteWrite thread (not sure if we're allowed to link?), the switch fro Received to In Progress just means one reader has looked at it. All submissions are getting at least two readers looking at them before any decisions are made, so don't panic when your status changes.

Yes E.Maree is quite right, when your status changes from Received to In Progress it means that someone from the acquisitions team has picked it up and at least started reading it. It takes two people to say "yes" to move it to a request for the full MS, and two people to say "no" to trigger a rejection so you might find you sit at In Progress for a long time.
If your submission is still at Received then you're still in the queue and no one has looked at it yet.

Sorry to hear that E. You'd think a weensy bit of feedback, after all this time? Yes, I know they can't do that for everyone, but when it's been in progress for so long, the readers could have made a note or two. Onwards and upwards!
