What is Your Favorite Alien Species and Why (From Any Medium)?

Ortolans, the species of which Max Rebo is a member, from Star Wars. He's like a blue elephant. Need I say more? Also, Ewoks, because they're adorable.

The Necrons from Warhammer 40 K . They're far scarier than the the Daleks.

I rather liked C.J. Cherryh's Iduve from Hunter of Worlds. They had a reasonable sense of their position in the Galaxy.

My favorite aliens are the Mondoshawan from The Fifth Element.

I’ve just remembered how much I love Q! Mad, bad and dangerous to know. I have spent many team meetings wishing I could snap my fingers and make them all go away :giggle:

Pilot from Farscape. A gentle, curious, beautifully acted creation. I'm not sure if the species' evolution was ever explained - how could an planet bound crustation thing develop a symbiotic relationship with an hyperspace jumping, biomechanical space ship? (I assumed the hand of some sort of 'lost' ancient galactic civilisation like whoever built all the Jump Gates in Babylon 5 or the monolith in 2001.)

I’ve been compared to Pilot… big nose, big eyes and long limbs. There might’ve been a compliment in there somewhere…

Treecats from David Weber's Honor Harrington wild but civilized and telepathic.

Theodore Sturgeon ruined Vulcans with the best Star Trek episode about Vulcans, Amok Time.

The Thranx from Alan Dean Foster's Humanx Commonwealth books.
The Octopus aliens from 2016's The Arrival.
The Pilots and Leviathans from FarScape.
Species 8472 from Star Trek: Voyager.
