Discussion Thread -- APRIL 2022 75 Word Writing Challenge

In case my story caused any confusion, one of the few facts I recall from my physics O-level (a looong time ago...) is that you get lousy tea on Everest because the higher you go, the lower the air pressure, so the water boils at a lower temperature.
I was taught this effect of air pressure with the example of boiling your egg. You think its boiled and done, but in fact is still raw.

So some sad git decides, "tell you what, as we're climbing this here mountain anyways, I'm gonna carefully bear an egg up it, and let's just see if it boils ok!"

That seems like a nice job (and exercise) for you, Danny. Hop over to Nepal, buy an egg, climb the Everest, accidentally (or not) drop an egg, descend the mountain to get a fresh egg in a nearby village, re-climb Everest (repeat as many times as you see fit) and boil your egg. Check carefully, before you eat it!
I'll pay for the eggs. Well, up to a dozen.

@Christine Wheelwright congrats on the win.

Thanks for the mentions folks.

I selected 'pressure' due to day job work. However, my tale is about how modern technology can alleviate pressure and stress... if it is used right. Unfortunately, Norman is a touch too strong. Don't worry though, the Dark Lord has plenty goblin scullerians to clean up the mess and cells full of spare elves.

Congratulations Christine Wheelwright

A big WELL DONE @Victoria Silverwolf & @therapist for a close second.

Plus a Bronze Metal @Peter V & @johnnyjet for running in at third place.

@paranoid marvin I kept thinking about how funny the image was of Darth Vader holding a tray of cookies for his son Luke.
You're comedic alternate universe of the Star Wars saga was worth a vote from me.

A monster THANK YOU @Ashleyne for the stealth vote. A wonderful surprise for me this morning.

Also many thanks (thanks thanks thanks) to all who mentioned my tale.

My Story: I strayed away from humor this time and went for a dark futuristic tale with a pleasant outcome for humanity.

Congratulations, Christine Wheelwright! A very good story, and a deserved win.

Congratulations Christine Wheelwright. I'm already looking forward to what Challenge you set us for May.

Thankyou for the awesome comments MatthewKusza and Starbeast. My Darth Vader is never the David Prowse/James Earl Jones character but more Rick Moranis/Dark Helmet; once you start there comedy is ensues. Having said that DV is a pretty hapless character; he never seems to do anything right. Trying to turn Luke to the Dark Side with threats of power was never going to work; bonding activities and cookies may have worked better!

congrats @Christine Wheelwright for a well deserved win. Also thanks for your vote :giggle: (and to @Luiglin @Mon0Zer0 @Iwroteathing) i've never come this close to winning before. Feels just as good as a win to me.

Well my record is one win about every 10 years! I'm sure you will get there, but in the meantime joint fourth is still pretty great. Yes, every vote feels like a ray of sunshine doesn't it?
