What are you working on right now?

I am still working on the wording of the 1st chapter of my novel (the 1st story is the 2nd book as I posted before). But am taking a short break from it.

Now I am working on a very short story for my wife for Mother's Day. I won't say what, but it is appropriate for all ages. Nice, clean and honest.
OK, it is an "UP" story base to it. No more said.

I'm trying to finish up a first draft so I can start my second one. Hopefully by then it'll resemble a good-ish story.

I've been very naughty and done little writing on my 3rd book, a superhard Sci-fi*... (I have been doing final editing on the 2nd book -- mostly converting hyphens to em dashes)

Here're my tallies from the past few days. Managed to do nearly 1k today.

Aww thanks, I appreciate your optimism.

It’s a life-changing software for writers called Scrivener. You can download a free 28 day trial from Literature and Latte and if you like it you can pay around $40 for an unlock key. I’ve been using it since 2013.

There are versions for MacOS, iOS and Winblows ;)

Your welcome :)

Thank you for the guidance :) I'll check it out once I plan more of my story so I can start linking things up which is defiantly an element I need to work on.

I am presently writing a piece on the relationship(s) shared between modern technologies and private/group spiritual practices; with a heavy focus on shamanism.

Working on a follow up novel to my first. This one is an undercover investigation in a shady asylum. Also working editing for my first novel and considering maybe a YouTube channel to get some exposure for my work and sci fi reviews. Oh and my day job.......never enough time.

I'm working on what has become a two-book comic fantasy, set in a mythical Australia.

Two novels. Who knew sending a half-trained herald on a quest to slay a dragon, while armed with nothing but a cheese knife, would come to this?

Not me. I'm a pantser. ;)

P.S. The first novel is done(-ish). Might be looking for beta readers.

hit me up for beta reading.

After spending some time here, doing some challenges and researching on/input from some of the threads, I went back and redid the order of the first chapter for my novel. It now has a cleaner flow to it and there is also more room within the first chapter to work with.

Fixing my washing machine. Small hole in door seal floods the room. New replacement seal is 50 or so quid - and that's just the part before the cost of swapping it over. I'm attempting to rebuild the thing with silicon and a bit of reinforcement...

We had woodpeckers put holes in the side of our house. Caused some water damage to the siding over the winter, so replacing them now. The joys of water damage!

Got my WIP back from my first beta reader, so I'll be doing editing. Also working on the next Trouveres adventure, titled The Tower of Guard.

I am now looking for some beta readers for the first book.

It's 80k, comic fantasy set in a mythical Australia, mostly stand-alone, a few threads not resolved until the second book.

The hero is a herald, armed with a cheese knife, and sent to slay a dragon that is hoarding all the toilet paper.

The second book still needs a big battle scene, a rousing speech by a nobleman stupid enough to turn his own men against him, and a declaration of human rights for zombies. And I swear I'm writing it right now.

I'm game! Send a slice my way.

I have translated several of my 300 Word entries into Dutch and doing so expanded somewhat at places where I felt I had to cut corners to stay within the 300 word limit. I really should write more in Dutch and this is a nice exercise, without having to work out new ideas and such.
The other reason is to get a decent set of short stories to post on my brand new website, which is all about stories and trying to sell SF/F as an interesting genre to the <cough> ignorant <cough> public. So I am aiming for working at short stories with enough humor to make it more attractive.
Not that I expect much visits, but who knows?
There is one page devoted to my English stories from the challenges here, but otherwise the site is entirely a Dutch affair.

Hi,

Really relieved at the moment. I was sort of blocked, working on half a dozen books at once (Yes - pantster!) and getting nowhere fast. Then about three weeks ago I can across a book I'd three quarters written years ago and forgotten about. Now it's been finished and largely rewritten, and A Farmer's Tale has made it to the revision stage. It's got a cover too which is great! (Though possibly a bit raunchy!) The woman by the way is a sprite not an elf!
