All Systems Red (Book 1 of the Murderbot series) by Martha Wells. I've been curious about this one for a while but didn't want to pay £7.99 for a novella. It was on Amazon this morning for £2.24, which is far more palatable.

Ogres by Adrian Tchaikovsky was also on Kindle for a discounted price. An easy buy as Tchaikovsky is turning into my favourite author.

Reading through the Gaunts Ghosts series has made me want to go and collect the Hardback books.

Penitent (A Bequin Novel)

Dan Abnett - Penitent.jpeg

If I remember correctly, Bequin was one of Eisenhorn's retinue. I remember enjoying them. Beside, the cover is pretty cool.

I also picked up Sabbat War (Edited by Dan Abnett)

A series of short stories set within the Sabbat Worlds Crusade and bookended by stories from Dan Abnett, (hopefully stories about the Ghosts.)

I bought a few cheap books from Amazon over the few days.

Adrian Tchaikovsky's Expert Systems Brother and Expert Systems Champion.

The Masterworks edition of The Time Machine by H.G. Wells.

Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters.

A few Warhammer 20, 000

Pariah and Penitent by Dan Abnett.

Got to say that I love the gothic artwork on those two Bequin books.

Fulgim by Graham McNeill (Book 5 of the Horus Heresy Series.)

The Caiphas Cain series by Sandy Mitchell is fun.

I've read the first three Ciaphas Cain books and I did very much enjoy them. I believe there may be one or two newer books that i have still to read.

Basically, it's Flashman in Space . What I like is that it manages to inject humor in the Grimdark of 40k. :D

Flashman is not a nice person, whereas I always felt Ciaphas Cain was.

I also loved the thought that the terror Cain felt was what he considered cowardice, but to be terrified yet go into battle anyway was the mark of a hero.

Deep down, Cain genuinely cares about the people that depend on him.

Got this hot off the shelf. Released in Feb 22, first volume of series/trilogy. Highly acclaimed by educated readers. It may be of some interest to those interested in real world history who like fantasy as well.
