I've read this book once and that once was quite enough

Books that you read from cover to cover once and have no desire ever to read again , And not necessarily because the book was bad.
 
I have plenty--some still in my shelves.
A more recent was Perdido Street Station by China Mieville there were elements I really enjoyed and then it seemed to veer off into an entire novel within the novel with a horror story and by the time it came out of that tailspin and I reached the satisfactory ending; I realized that I was glad to be finished and don't think I'll ever pick it up for another read.

I read Pierre Boule's novel Planet of the Apes almost 30 years ago , I thought it a bit silly . The ending particular, made no sense at all.

Number of the Beast . I heard to negativity about it and avoided it. I might give the new version a try though.
 
The last series of four books [Elder Gods?] from David Eddings. I had been such a fan of his early and middle work, but the last four [shudders] were terrible. I kept waiting for the twist to make it all worthwhile... and it didn't come.

I liked the Belgrade seres and thats about all.
 
That's true of most books I read, because there are too many books out there I haven't read yet.

I still have nightmares, I also kept reading expecting it to improve. If I was you I'd steer clear of Redemption of Althus more recycled rubbish.


Its had some good reviews but I'm not overly impressed Black Leopard, Red Wolf, i wont be finishing the series.
 
I don't really enjoy re-reading books, even ones I've loved, so I suppose this is most books I've read. But the one that leaps to mind is Rich Shapero's Wild Animus, which I think was given out for free several times at the university I attended.

I'm not really sure how I managed to get through it, but it's hard to think of a worse book.
