The latest 300-worder is up.

As always with the longer form, entries can be posted from the 10th of the month (in this case July), but that does not mean that no-one can talk about the challenge until then.

And as ever, the image is only there to provide inspiration; your story does not have to reference it, even indirectly.

Idea in place and will write tonight. It could be a bit niche in audience appeal but now it's stuck in my head I'll have to get it out.

I’ll be honest, when the photo came up in the Photo Challenge (I can’t remember which month), I had no idea it was a type of structure. When someone called it a colliery, I had to look up the meaning. I thought it was some kind of amusement park ride, long disused. Maybe I’ll go with that.

Terrific photo, @Mister_Oy! Looking forward to the stories it inspires. I had an idea for this as soon as the poll went up, which often isn't the case.

I've written the same story but with two endings. Not sure which to go with at the moment.
Betas! If I think my story is halfway decent, I ask my wife to take a look. If she likes it, I'm good to go.
Also, of course, time - good thing, the 10 day wait on the 300 worder. :)

I've told Mister_Oy that he won the Image poll and I've given him a link to the Challenge. I'm hoping he'll read through the stories and vote when the time comes, but it would be wonderful if he also took part!
