Discussion Thread -- August 2018 75-word Writing Challenge

That's a tough one. The story I think will do well is usually the one that doesn't, and Victoria is unstumpable.
Normally, I would say you are right about Victoria, but she limited herself to magazine style reviews. Part of me wants to do something so obscure, that there isn't a magazine for it...

@TheEndIsNigh .... It’s Absolute Torture .... T.E.I.N. has let us see life through a vertebrate who has no eyes, but records much.

I had no idea that you were such a bedeveler.

Thank you, @Victoria Silverwolf. My non-devious side kicked in, and I decided to stick with the more ordinary story rather than go obscure and difficult to review. The other was really surreal and bizzare, so maybe I will resurrect it at another time...

@Joshua Jones was it ikea? :)
Btw, I have this Samsung washing machine operating manual in several languages, which is 3Kg heavy and 1000 pages thick. Do you think it could serve as a Rosetta stone in the future? Ahahahahaha...
It just might. Needless to say, I can't talk much about my entry, but I am fascinated with the idea of what people might think about Western Civilization if it became a lost civilization. I am convinced, for example, that they will think we worship geometric shapes. We have circle gods that we put on towers, in high places in rooms, and even on nightstands to watch over us. Rectangular talismans we keep on us at all times and larger ones we mount on walls (the biggest of these we mount on buildings!). And that only scratches the surface of our geometric worship...

I'm intrigued as to which magazine I'll get. I've got ideas but that's just me :)

Wtf?

How many years have I been entering these?

How many times have I fought to tweak the entries to fit 75 words?

So why have I fought toof and nail to create and post a 65 word entry?

Then only to spot my stupidity a minute after the edit hour has expired and after I'd edited the entry to remove one word for another.

@Joshua Jones ....The Book of Enlightenment ,,,, Josh has created a real palm to the forehead story moment.

Reminds a bit of A Canticle for Lieberwitz .... Good job.

@Luiglin .... The small things in life ....
Luiglin reminds us that necessity is the mother of invention when it comes to the necessary room.

I'm in with a nod to The Book of Eli.

@Justin Swanton .... Eli Got it Wrong .... Justin reminds us that there is a difference between having the information and being able to access it.

@mosaix .... Time Enough and More… Mosaix gives us a story which reminds us that books open the door for the dissemination of knowledge and sometimes a cure for loneliness.

@Robert Mackay .... I'm Having a Little Trouble with the Structure .... Robert gives us a humorous look at the creation of a book.

@Glen .... Border Control .... Glen gives us a story set in the far future of immigration and makes the reader consider whats happening today.
