Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

I just got back from seeing it. It's not without it's faults but it was a lot of fun and will definitely try and see it again in the near future.

Its a shame that the cinema was half empty.

It’s making money but, it’s not proving to be the juggernaut that previous installments have been. I do plan to see this film

It's worth going to see, Baylor. It's fun. No two ways about it.

What is wrong with this industry, when $101B in one weekend is called a disappointment??

I didn’t say it was a disappoint, It’s making money just not as much as the prior installments.

Apparently there is a fan boycott on the film because of the The Last Jedi and it not living up to their ideals of the franchise. Not sure how much of an impact that is making, but its a shame either way.

I really don't understand why Disney, Lucasfilm, etc can't make a film that is at least the equal of a 1976 effort that was a production disaster. They managed to improve on the original with Empire, and then it has been downhill from there.

Sorry, but I refuse to consider any movie making over $100M in its first 3 days a failure of any kind.

considering how much it cost it is, regrettably, a failure :(

Why 'regrettably'? Because I really enjoyed it. It was so much better than The Last Jedi that it's not even funny.

Han is likeable, the characters are (IMO) well drawn for that type of film and the whole thing is a blast, the only down-side is that there is no sense of danger for Han and Chewie since we know they survive

They are making money. It's no failure. perhaps they won't make as much as the last one, but I will not weep over their making a few million less.
