DISCUSSION -- October 2017 300-Word Writing Challenge (#27)

Legend Unveiled, @Hoverdasher - Monsters. The stuff of legends. But, who are the real monsters? Look to your neighbor - that teacher over there - a trusted official. Finally, a story that reveals a true monster!

Hoverdasher -- What seems at first to be a modern, urban version of a familiar folktale turns the reader's expectations on their heads. By subverting these assumptions, it becomes clear that judging others by their reputations is often misleading.

Thank you Cathbad and Victoria.

Hey, these stories are all so fun to read on: Friday the 13th (Bop. Bop. Bommm).

Cool story, Hoverdasher! Well done on entering your first challenge. You can learn a lot about efficient storytelling...editing, conciseness of language, even POV in these challenges. So well done, CC

Thank you, to all the reviewers, for your efforts.

I have to say it sort of wrote itself once I got started. My only problem was trying to keep it down to the word limit. This was my second try and I couldn't believe how it worked out.

Lex E. Darion -- The author takes us into a strange and mysterious place in this dark and moody tale. What is remarkable is that, although this setting and its inhabitants are so otherworldly, we are able to relate to the emotions and relationships depicted in it.

Evocative image prompts instant story. Love it when that happens.

Some of these stories are getting a bit scary.
There are those amongst us who want some sleep tonight, don't want to lay there with one eye peeking out of the bedding and alert to every little sound!

Toll, @Rafellin - Legends say, "When The Morrigan appear, Death be near." Consider the benefits of being able to control her crows! Oh, yes. Such a power, in the hands of one willing to use it, could exact heavy tolls from those who wrong the Sisterhood!

Rafellin -- Ancient sorcery and modern technology meet in this evocative and moody tale. What makes it come to life is the fact that the magical is made to seem real, and the familiar to seem fantastic.
