I think the title of the thread is a mistake.
Game of Thrones: 3.05 was Kissed by Fire.
Game of Thrones: 7.05 is Eastwatch. I don't know if a synopsis is out for it yet.

Decent episode. To save others the googling, this is the letter Arya stole:

Game of Thrones: That Mysterious Letter from Sansa, Explained

Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark.

-I thought I saw Randyll being burnt during the battle. Guess not, apparantly that is his due during this episode. He died like a soldier. So too did his son. Not sure why Dany is so against taking prisoners. Given her speech itw as impossible for her to heed Tyrion's words. Unless she didn't mind looking weak. That my way or the high way is part of why I never warmed up to Dany. Jon is the only one who dares to stand up to her face at the moment it seems.

-The dragon bit with Jon was nice and honest. Both scared and intrigued. A pity they made him repeat some of his words of an earlier episode.

- Arya and Davos continue to steal the show. Davos lines were again among the best.

- Cersei completed destroyed what could have been a good moment between her and Jaime.

- Sam, couldn't you have listened to your wife. The show purposely teasing the world. I don't think he has heard about his family upon leaving Oldtown. Jon is a confirmed Targaryen, and not a ******* after all (at least in the show).

- Lol @petyr and Arya filming a medieval suspense thriller.

- Jon goes traight to Eastwatch. I do hope he at least send a raven to winterfell. When they walked out, the small group of men felt like the X Man or similar hero-moments right before the team went into the heroic final. A team of strongmen. Pretty much 3/4 of the better known fighters assembled in that squad. The whole idea behind is just dumb though. The writers obviously think different.

Quite the game of cat and mouse going on between Arya and Littlefinger. I thought Arya was the cat up until the last scene. Now, I don't know.

It seemed as if Jon's contact with Drogon made Dany wonder if she and Jon are related.

And then there came a shadow, swift and sudden, dark and drear;
The bells were silent, not an echo stirred.
The flags were drooping sullenly, the men forgot to cheer;
We waited, and we never spoke a word.
The sky grew darker, darker, till from out the gloomy rack
There came a voice that checked the heart with dread:
"Tear down, tear down your bunting now, and hang up sable black;
They are coming -- it's the Army of the Dead." - The March of the Dead by Robert William

There is nothing like marching in the dead of winter. Most of Finns know how it is when the long dark comes. It's not nice and I don't envy to be in the brotherhood shoes, following bastards to north of the Wall. I never knew they would bring back Gendry and send him to meet the army of the dead.

If I would be the Night King I would drop the blizzard as soon as the gate had dropped down to show them "the selection." He must be laughing for the foolish mission, because to be honest, everything from north of the wall belongs to him. There are no living left. Or if there are, they must be mad followers, ready to turn themselves into the dead - if the need arrives.

What I don't understand is why they couldn't arm themselves with weapons made out of dragon glass, especially as they got a master smith even visiting the mine. They could have easily taken enough of material to facet bolts and crude daggers. But they didn't. Instead they followed the Brotherhood priest like a fool man, just because Hound was feeling he'd had enough of the dungeon.

Why not stand on the wall and harpoon one the dead? They won't die and it might not be necessary for them to have legs. A torso and the head should be enough of evidence for Cercei. Especially if one of the dragon's airdrop it in the King's Landing palace grounds. In that way Dead Mountain could have a mate. Somebody to exchange grunts and stares that last forever and again.

I think this one was a good episode. And I was glad to see Jaime survived the swim with Bronn. However long that might taken, because to me it looked to be Olympic record material. Anywhere closer and they might had been spotted by patrolling dragons or raiders.

Game of Thrones is full of these epic moments and for some of them feel right. I, for one, didn't want that to be the end for KingSlayer. I said to my wife, "Cercei should be aware she's talking a betrayal to the one who took down the Mad King." But she's not. Instead Cercei seems to be full of murderous plots and I don't think she would even blink if she lost Jaimie as well.

In a way Jamie has gone around a circle and found himself serving wrong master again. In one hand, he knows Tyrion wouldn't have risked everything to come in King's Landing, in the other, he himself was preaching about the three dragons to his most loyal aid. He knows that he cannot win the war, so why go all the way with the woman he might not even love any more. The face he was making, when Cercei went on her knees wasn't full of pleasure, and love. It was guilty.

Same face that Little Finger made, when he spotted Arya coming out from his trap. I don't think she noticed the spymaster lurking in the shadows. So the question is can he organise Arya's assassination before she sanks her blade into him?

Agreed, but they are doing it for good reason. She isn't supposed to be the prefect savior. There is still a question of the kind of ruler she will be, with two paths ahead of her. She’s toed the line between them all along.

Sam, couldn't you have listened to your wife.
I know! I gasped out loud when she was reading... I was sure Sam was about to put it together and rush off to tell Jon. Ah well...

It seemed as if Jon's contact with Drogon made Dany wonder if she and Jon are related.

I think it was more just a fascination that Jon wasn’t afraid. Tyrion is the only other character to approach them like that, but Dany didn’t see.

Jon was definitely afraid in the first part of that scene. If not he'd be a madman.

Good episode - and just what I was expecting after last week. An episode of moving pieces around the board.

Next week is looking like more of the same I reckon leading to the usual penultimate episode mayhem!

I hadn't thought of that, and after watching so much The Walking Dead it is obvious. I guess they don't watch that in Westeros.

I'm afraid, that was too much for me to believe. What is their armour made from? I'm assuming it's something metallic as it looks shiny and technology isn't a strong point in Westeros. They were still wearing full armour when they climbed out of the lake. Have you tried swimming even in wet clothing?

Arya/Littlefinger - I hadn't thought about a double-double bluff until I read it here. Too complicated to think about and not really Arya's style - she would just run him through if she thought the letter was false.

Yeah. They seem to have very awkward relationship with the dead, even though the dead has been there was from the beginning. Instead of studying and learning what makes them functioning, whole thing was pushed past the wall and the investigators were given same address but no return ticket.

I had to during my conscript service. It's heavy and really cumbersome. Diving underneath the surface was a death option and later on, when I tried scuba diving, I couldn't as I had post-trauma stress displaying in my head.

The episode was okay, but once again little stuff jarred. Like Jaime and Bronn managing to swim to safety amidst dothraki whilst wearing armor. Or Tyrion his dumb idea to obtain proof for Cersei and the logistics of it. The creators want us to completely forget about time and space. Basically Jon gets a raven the army of the death are on the march towards Eastwatch as they speak. Jon correctly states he needs to get back in order to organise the defense. But he ends up not doing that at all. Instead thanks to Tyrion 'great idea' to create an armistice with Cersei of all people, Jon waits on dragonstone. He waits there till for Davos and Tyrion to go to king's landing and back. (so dragonstone isn't that far from kings landing, still will have taken time). He then sails directly to Eastwatch without an army. Not getting winterfell and his army ready cause he needs to go and capture a wight first.... . Mind you the time it takes for Jon to reach Eastwatch, that place should have already fallen but okay. So Jon reaches Eastwatch and he sets out virtually unprovisioned , with a couple of other blokes on foot to grab 1 wight/undead/white walker from the marching army of the death Once he manages that he will sail all the way back to king's Landing to show his prove to cersei whom obviously will simply make use of this in her eyes gift to buy time to winher war for the iron throne. Meanwhile during all this we are supposed to believe the Night King is still dithering around outside Eastwatch... .
If rumour is to be believed one of dany's dragons will become the night king undead mount through all of this. Basically handing the Night King his most lethal weapon yet...

Did Dany -- will Dany now -- start wondering about Tyrion coming back unscathed from his visit to Drogon's siblings...?

No. She hasn't shown anything about that, but she was really intrigued, if not turned on by Snow touching Drogon's snout. I personally thought there was going to be royal bedroom action happening. But it didn't happen. At least not on the screen.

Here's the scene

Anyone else feel that Jon will be the betrayal for love. And that it will result in Jon dying/sacrificing himself to help win the war. Thus bringing the bittersweet ending of the war won, but jon being dead whilst dany is left to rule westeros.

I loved that scene, with Jon patting Drogon.

I just about lost it in Oldtown with Gilly reading that book. I said to my husband, "I hope Gilly brought that book along when she and Sam absconded with all those books!" I mean, the evidence was in the books, but to have it right there in front of us, in an official record, amazing!

Does anyone else think Cersei's outfits are looking more like they're designed for a sci-fi show? The dress she wore in this episode reminded me of an outfit on Star Trek: TNG. Just saying.

Bronn, Bronn, Bronn for the win! I've loved him from day one.

The double-double with Arya and Littlefinger was kind of obvious. As good as Arya is, LF has vastly more experience. I hope that the girls will figure it out sooner rather than later. My secret hope is that Sansa figures it out, using LF's lessons against him, and finally drops him, or she discusses with Arya and Arya just "handles" it.

Sound theory. Though I was discussing with a friend the other day, and he said Martin had said from day one that five characters would survive the war, the five being Daenerys, Tyrion, Arya, Bran, and Jon. I don't know if that's still true, but I would love for it to be. I hope Jon survives since he's one of my favorites.
