A group of young travellers come together on a promise of work in the city of Corianth. They intend to discover their dreams and fortunes.

Instead, they'll be snared in a conspiracy, and left fighting for their lives...

Sirath is on the run. Erin wrestles with her faith. Dalathos seeks his place in a world that would otherwise shun him.

Against them is Molric, who has journeyed to the past to destroy it. He plots to assassinate the Emperor and arm his allies with the secret of explosives.

But there is a gathering of forces bigger than anyone realises. The decisions made here will decide not only the fate of an empire, but the future of humanity.

Gathering (Chronicles of Empire 1)

If you have an ARC, you're now able to post a review to Amazon (and my apologies for not being able to change the release date at Amazon to the 15th, as originally intended).

Please note there are no discounts or third-party promotions arranged for this title.

This is next in my to-be-read queue at Kindle. I wonder, Brian - I'll be getting the paper version as well, for bookshelf display...were you thinking of offering a signed version at any point? I would wait for a signature, if I know that will be offered. Hope this does fantastically well for you! Looking forward to the read, CC

Tried to keep spoiler to a minimum but should probably just add it just in case.
It was a good book. Start was a bit slow, but once it was all assembled it really got going. Liked the twist at the ending. Very curious on how the story will continue. The one sidenote I personally have is that I'm a bit of a sceptic when it comes to religion and time-loops in media but didn't have a problem with it so far.

If this news isn't fit to print then nothing is. Congratulations! Now I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas.

Can I be *that* guy? I ask this out of confusion and intrigue, and not any other factor.

Firstly, congrats on your book!

May one ask: is this a "SFF Chronicles" book? It's just that I've never seen a hyperlink to a book on every page of Chrons before. Also, the default avatar for Chron-users is the badge of this book. I'm just curious.

Thanks (y)

The chrons forums were originally built in 2001 to support my writing - but when I realised I wasn't going to be published any time soon I broadened the forums out to be a general sf/f one. More here: The History of Chrons

The logo is indeed taken from the book cover. There is an older one we used from a speculative design for it. The new logo will continue to appear on future Chronicles of Empire novels, though customised according to each book cover design.

There's nothing wrong with closing the ad at the top of the forums if you don't want to see it - there's a X in the top right of it for that.

As a long time, but quiet, member of the Chrons I would like to say congratulations!

I notice it's just Ebook or PB are there plans to release a hardcover? I'll be picking up a PB copy anyways, but I typically replace all my PBs with HC when possible then give the PB to people trying to get them into new series.

I realized I had not offered my congratulations before. Congratulations, Brian.

I read the book and posted the review already. I found it to be quite splendid and liked it a lot. I will probably be investing in a Paperback version for Christmas so it can join my shelf. Is there a plot discussion thread yet? XD

I can't believe I missed this! I still had Nov 15th down in my mind – was coming in to congratulate you on your release day, oops!

(Belated congrats! Still reading – and enjoying.) :)

EDIT: ps – have the ARC but also bought an e-copy today. :)

Is there a Nook version for Barnes and Noble customers. Sorry, I don't Amazon (due to the fact that I have hundreds of dollars of B&N gift cards)

I'm afraid not for the moment. The book is enrolled in Kindle Select, which means it's exclusive to Amazon for at least 3 months.
