why no ant man and wasp in first avengers film

I think Ant Man was seen as a riskier franchise than the ones that made it into the first Avengers film because Hank Pym is a generally disliked character. Once the first Avengers film was such a massive hit, Marvel felt more confident with riskier franchises such as Ant Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

No idea if this is the real reason but as a guess I think it makes sense.

I didn't know Hank Pym was disliked. Is that in actual fact or just the way he's written?

shoulda, coulda, woulda... it was years and years ago. Time to move on.

Hope to see them in the next Avengers movie. Ant-Man was in civil war... and the Ant-Man and Wasp movie is coming soon... so they could both end up in Infinity War.

Ant-Man is very likely going to be in Infinity war, but the Ant-Man and Wasp movie releases a few months after Infinity war. This doesn't make Wasp being in Infinity war impossible, but it's really very unlikely.

Not necessarily. Spiderman's first MCU appearance was in Captain America: Civil War.

True, it's not impossible. Still, the Ant-Man and Wasp movie seems like it'll be the Wasp's origin story, which was not the case for Spiderman.

In some ways it might have been a blessing in disguise. Age of Ultron suffered from packing in so many characters that their stories felt short changed, so it was prudent of the first film to keep things more focused and set everything up before adding too many characters.
