Well series XI has started (online).

The first episode, Twentica, was very funny and bears repeat viewings. If the rest of the series (and the next) is as good as this one I'll be very pleased. :)

Will wait until Thursday next. I really do hope its good. I seen the remake of Porridge recently, soul-wrenchingly bad.

But this isn't a remake, thankfully, more a continuation.

I'm optimistic. What i saw of the last series was a return to form.

Second episode, Samsara, is up on UKTV. It's another really funny episode. It looks like this series is going to be a great one. I hope they can keep up the momentum into series XII!

Just seen the first episode. Thought it was a good episode. Slightly overdid the science although the dense line was rather good.

Enjoyed the first episode, but for me it wasn't as great as the original series of shows they did back in the day. I remember - I think it was Thursdays on BBC 2 - there was an hour of comedy, Blackadder then Red Dwarf. I got relegated to upstairs to watch it because I laughed so damned loud.:D Plus my parents thought it was awful.

A little disappointed there was a smeg count of 1.*:(
Slightly overdid the science although the dense line was rather good.
Yep, particularly liked that line.

* The number of times they said smeg, rather than any kind of rating of the show:)

I thought Samara was better than Twentica.

Solid start to the new season - will try and catch the third tonight.

Interesting, as I preferred Twentica. I think both were good, rather than great.

It's odd, I watch this and I feel the actors arn't on form, the humour a bit tired and the change in shape of Kryton (Robert Llewellyn has gained weight but in person seems to have gained the least!) but the writers have accepted all this and that is exactly why this still feels like Red Dwarf. It somehow seems aware of all the potential issues and carries on regard.. ridiculous. I love it it is what it was and it is what it is not being what it was. I often ask this about what I write so maybe I'm on a psy moon but does that make sense?

I think the third (Give And Take, I think) is the strongest episode of the series so far. Clever little story arc.

Really loving the series so far, but I feel like they always seem like they ended a bit abruptly, almost as if they all could have done with being 10 minutes long or something. Still, not gonna complain, still struggle to believe it's actually continuing after all these years.

For those so inclined, episode 5, Krysis, is up on UKTVPlay. They've really done an excellent job with this series. I'll be sad to see it end, but happy there is a new one to look forward to shortly.

A new series, or a new episode, d'you mean?

Just seen the fourth episode. Another good one. After a few ropey series, it's good to see things getting back on form.

I think the 4th episode has been my favorite so far, certainly the one I found the funniest.

It's been a really good series so far. Officer Rimmer obviously had shades of Rimmerworld about it, but was fresh enough (and funny enough) that it wasn't a problem. The monster at the end had me guffawing like a loon. Classic Dwarf combo of ropey FX and comedy gold. Looking forward to episodes 5 and 6.
