IIRC, the story is that the joined the adult industry before she was 18, making a number of films. Having become very successful, when she turned 18 she was able to negotiate full rights over the next one she made - which was also her last. She then turned around, alerted everyone to her true age, which meant all her films had to be removed from circulation - except, of course, that last one that she had full rights on. That coup d'etat allowed her to cash in fully on her popularity, at the expense of the adult entertainment industry.

I seem to recall that the US government wanted to prosecute the adult companies involved, only for them to point out that she had provided apparently valid ID when challenged - showing that it was in fact the US government who had provided her with the documentation she used to mislead the industry, meaning no action could be taken.

Yup she was a megastar and then she announced that she was underage when all her films were made ( bear in mind this is underage in a US context, not UK or European) so the porn industry lost a stack of $$$$ IIRC she did a few skin-flicks where she had total control but (unsurprisingly) many in the industry weren't very receptive...

The courts were ready to have a field day, but somebody inconveniently asked why the industry would exploit a 15-year-old, that's when the passport she'd used - giving her age as 18 - was produced.

It's still conjecture how she managed to procure a passport with a false birth-date, but it had been accepted in good faith. Her back catalogue was destroyed.
