CONFUSED please help!!!

I just started reading "Krondor The Betrayal" and I'm confused because his wife Katala and his daughter are still with Pug. And in "Shards Of A Broken Crown" he is with Miranda cause his wife and daughter died. So chronologically "Shards Of A Broken Crown" happens after "Krondor The Betrayal" but then why are they discussing the life stone being trapped in Sethon and the battle that happened there with the Murmandamus(the Pantathian serpent priest in disguise) in "Krondor The Betrayal" when it shouldn't have even happened yet if we are going chronologically....

Krondor The Betrayal is a much later book (1998) based on the Computer game Betrayal at Krondor (1993) which I have somewhere. I have book too.

It's the first novel in the Riftwar Legacy, which is after the Riftwar Saga and before Krondor's Sons series.

The Riftwar Legacy is a series of fantasy novels by Raymond E. Feist, part of The Riftwar Cycle. The series occurs between the Riftwar Saga and Krondor's Sons series chronologically in the universe of the Riftwar Cycle, though it was published much later, and focuses on Squire James and other characters as they combat dark powers threatening the Kingdom of the Isles. The first and last novels in the series are novelizations of the computer games Betrayal at Krondor and Return to Krondor, respectively.

It's ages since I read it. I have a lot of the books, but a while since I read them. I 've had both versions of Magician. The Early one I bought long ago got left abroad.

Yes, I know that it was written after "Shards Of A Broken Crown" where he is with Miranda after his wife and daughter have already died and they save the lifestone in Sethanon from Murmandamus. "Krondor The Betrayal", which was written after "Shards Of A Broken Crown" wife and daughter are alive and the lifestone is needing to be protected again. My point is if that if wife and daughter are still alive then it was before the lifestone in Sethanon was saved from Murmandamus "Shards Of A Broken Crown" where he saved it with Miranda(cause wife and kid are dead). But the wife and daughter are in "Krondor The Betrayal" and the book makes references to the battle in Sethanon where the lifestone was saved from Murmandamus by Miranda and Pug.

When it was written doesn't matter. Internal chronological order often doesn't correspond to written or published order.
I'm confused by your description, so I'll have to read them again.

The events that KtB refers to is the Battle of Sethanon, From "A Darkness at Sethanon"(Bk 3 Riftwar saga).

Keldaris, thank you! I was confused terribly as I had thought they were referring to the Serpentwar Saga when Thomas removes his sword from the lifestone...now I'm totally clear. I read three books than take break for a few months as it had been a while the books were all jumbled in my memory. Thanks again!
