Interesting electric eel-like Wesen of the week and the character design looked cool. Glad that Monroe and Rosalee were finally able to enjoy their honeymoon. Wu finally finding out about the cookie incident was kind of funny. I also laughed at Nick not wanting to pierce his ear and the ghost hunter girl asking "What kind of police are you?". Great seeing Garcelle Beauvais show up. Weird that Renard's old gun shot wounds were bleeding at the end.

Three quibbles were that, at the start, I thought the ghost hunter thing was going to be really bad, that Henrietta was a bit overdone, and that Renard's stigmata seemed like an excessive complication. But the ghost hunter thing ended up working pretty well and the Renard thing may eventually work out, too. The other is very minor.

And, in general, this got to be a very above-average episode. Wu's coming up to speed (and, yep, the cookie revelation (in the sense of news to Wu) was great), Rosalee and Monroe seemed like they were on another planet compared to the usual misty and monstery Oregon, the main story was pretty good, etc.

The one thing I might like most of all is also the one that puzzles me most. If Juliette's becoming a hexenbeist means she's just going to become an evil vicious monster, I get her repugnance. (But Renard's mom seemed relatively in control.) And I certainly get that it's physically repulsive and Adelind-like. But she'd probably be dead if she hadn't been able to make that guy's head explode and, while she could learn to control it better and might be a little more subtle, being able to destroy the jerk driver's vehicle is also a handy thing. :) It certainly makes her character more fictionally interesting and potentially useful. So I kinda hope she keeps it. Anyway, so I get why it's horrifying and awful to her but I don't get why she doesn't seem to at least see how it also saved her life. Similarly, I already got why she'd be hesitant to tell Nick before the "Nick cuts her head off" dream made it obvious but that's just not really realistic. I get her hesitation, but I don't get her refusal to tell Nick. I will say that she obviously wouldn't bring it up when Rosalee and Monroe were finally headed out because it might derail them once again and, once delayed, maybe it's just getting harder to bring up. And, of course, Rosalee could be very helpful in this but she's not really available. So she's going the Renard/Henrietta route. Still, it's all weird. And Nick picked up on it - you could see him think "What headaches?" when he saw Rosalee ask Juliette about them but, for some reason, he didn't follow up on it.

Anyway, hell, if I'm thinking about this stuff it must have gotten me interested. As I've said, I quit watching this for awhile once before, but I think I got all or mostly caught back up again and, while I still wonder sometimes, it seems to finally be hooking me, as long as they don't screw it up.

I think my only issue with the episode really was that it was a little more 'magicky' in it's solutions than normal. That may have been slightly intentional with Henrietta (I quite liked her parts actually, even if it was just mystery and then walking down stairs :)) The bit I mean more is the poison frog paste on the ear being the protection against several thousand amps.
Why?
not even the slightest hint of a reason, which normally they do.

it doesn't especially matter, it just stood out as being slightly more 'oh, it just works' than the show usually does.

Great episode though :)

I thought this was a rather mundane episode - following some fantastic episodes at the end of Season 3.

Yes, it did seem to be more Buffy than Grimm.
Rosalee and Monroe seemed like they were on another planet compared to the usual misty and monstery Oregon...
The background in that Skype thing was so obviously blue screened. The light and shadow was all wrong. I couldn't suspend my disbelief and believe they were in the tropics. I think they are in a motel in Seattle.
I get why it's horrifying [to be an Hexenbeist] and awful to her but I don't get why she doesn't seem to at least see how it also saved her life.
Nor me! I also think Nick would see her as an asset and I'd certainly like to have her powers.
Wu finally finding out about the cookie incident was kind of funny.
How come Wu hasn't been promoted to Detective? And why hasn't he asked for it?

I'm happy that Wu is in the loop. Now I want to go back and watch the episode where Wu is eating paper clips.
