Goblin Moon Kindle Edition, epub, and .pdf -- Discounted the Entire Month of January 2011

Re: Goblin Moon Kindle Edition, epub, and .pdf -- Discounted the Entire Month of Janu

Thanks! I'll look into it.

Re: Goblin Moon Kindle Edition, epub, and .pdf -- Discounted the Entire Month of Janu

I'm not a Kindle owner having started with ebooks in the 90's and built my collection from Baen and Peanut Press and all of its successors including Nook. That is why I was thrilled to see availability through SmashWords - some of us want an alternative to Amazon! My husband and I have reached the point where we prefer ebooks and haven't purchased physical books for years. The only thing holding us back from replacing all of our old favorites is availability. Can't wait for the Gnomes's Engine!

Thanks, davidwat and khampton. I'm trying to do two things at once. Get The Gnome's Engine ready and working on finishing the last book by "Madeline Howard," The Wind's that Move the Worlds.".

I'll see how far I get with both in the 3+ months I have before I go back to the developmental editing.

Oh I just read Goblin Moon it is awsome. When will the other book be out?

I picked up Goblin Moon from Smashwords and have just read it - with great enjoyment. Relish, even. I hope you manage to solve your technical difficulties Teresa because I can't wait to see what happens next!

Compliments on such a well-turned tale. It deserves a wider readership and I hope the ebook edition works out well for you.

Good day, Teresa! I wanted to let you know I finished Goblin Moon, and really loved it! I wouldn't know how to even attempt a proper review so I will just mention a few things I loved about the book
--you created such a rich, fully imagined alternate reality! The history of this world was fascinating, and I can't wait to learn more of it in future books.
--What wonderful characters you've given us! Sera, Jed and Skelbrooke were, of course, favorites, but I really admired the nobility of Ule, too.
--there were many-many truly clever, memorable scenes. This made for a really enjoyable read...the pace of the story, and the drama, never waned (I fit 'waned' in! :)).
--Finally, I thought the dialogue throughout was truly excellent...I'm not a writer, but I imagine it must be really difficult to make dialogue sound believable...to not have it just seem a device to move the drama in a tale from point A to point B. The dialogue here was terrific, absolutely believable, and always suited the characters exactly as I knew them through the story lines.

Often when I finish a book, I think to myself 'That was nice! Now on to the next one!' With Goblin Moon, I only wanted to get on to the next adventures of our heroes (and villains!). I need Kindle to read these days (to increase the size of the letters to accomodate my overburdened peepers)...Teresa, I wonder if you might know when the next book in the series might be available for Kindle? Thanks for the fine read! CC

I'm glad you liked it! Gary says the sequel will come out within the next six months. I'm hoping for sometime this summer.

Does it make any difference to you Teresa if it's purchased from Amazon.co.uk or smashwords for the kindle?
Or do you also sell direct from a website of your own?

Thanks, CC! We are hoping for a release early in Autumn.

If you were in the US, I would say I make more money if you buy it direct from Kindle. However, the way Amazon.co.uk has it set up for sending royalties to the US, I might never see the money at all. They won't do direct deposit for authors outside the UK, and they won't send checks for less than £100. If, at the time of the switch over from me being the publisher to Tickety Boo Press publishing it (and I can't say for sure when that will be), the monies not paid out in royalties at that date don't reach that sum, I believe Amazon gets to keep the money. If Smashwords now has a Kindle option (I know they were talking about it at one point, but I never found out whether the deal went through), I would be grateful if you ordered it from them, or wait until Tickety Boo Press brings out their edition.

For anyone in the US, ordering from Amazon.com would be to my advantage.

I'm in Ireland. I can only purchase from the .co.uk and maddenly, and illegally, I only ever know shipping on physical goods to Ireland when the email receipt arrives. The Amazon site only ever shows shipping within UK.

I bought "mobi" version of book on Smashwords and it works fine on my Kindle DXG.

Thanks Teresa. I will buy then on Smashwords as it sounds like you'll never get a cent from Amazon.co.uk and I can't purchase on Amazon.com (Used to be able to, then they decided that Amazon.ie redirects to amazon.co.uk and we are UK Region with magical hidden extra shipping.).

At least there is no shipping charge on eBooks. But they have full VAT printed books have zero VAT. Magazines here are also full VAT, but I think zero tax in UK. VAT is supposed to be harmonised but individual Governments often ignore EU when it suits.

On ebooks, it goes both ways. If someone is in the US, they can only buy Kindle books from amazon.com and if they are in the UK or I suppose anywhere in Europe that doesn't have it's own Amazon, they can only buy them from amazon.co.uk. So that is why I had one answer for you (Smashwords) and another for anyone from the US who might be lurking and had read my post (Amazon).

But I have bought hardbacks and paperbacks from amazon.co.uk, when the books weren't available in the US. But that was a while ago, and I hope that hasn't changed. I was always willing to pay any extra shipping and taxes to get books I otherwise had no hope of buying. (Although I really, really had to want the book, because willing or not I couldn't always afford to pay extra.)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
