This might not be the right forum, but it's about writing blogs so er... change it if it's wrong, mods!

So, I've been invited to do a blog tour and on the back of that, had an offer of appearing on another blog in December when Shuttered is released. Which is cool. And it got me thinking that I should really get more involved in all this blogging lark - the touring and the guesting and what have you.

I'm posting this as an invite to anybody - if you'd like a guest spot on my blog, let me know! Basically, you can plug yourself/your work but just give me a little credit on your own blog (so for example, just comment on your own site saying 'so today I did a guest post on Mouse's blog and yer tis etc. etc.)

Does that make any sense?! I'm thinking you send me an article and I post it, giving you the credit and a link back. I know alc and Hex have done this sort of thing.
 
Do you want another one to do - I have one where I need 4 people to select and I have 2 so far. (Ditto any of the other regular bloggers I haven't asked - pm me if interested. The others I ask need to find 4, too, so any extra interest can be sent on, maybe.

I think they're a good idea. I'm planning to post the one Alc did for me tonight onto my shiny new blog and the one I did for Hex, and then re-link them to Twitter, Facebook, here and Absolute write.

I think, in general, helping each other along is really good. Last night, IBrian and Thad retweeted my link - that's really useful especially if you leave a lapse of a couple of hours, and I try to do that for anyone Chrons-y that I see (I follow a list and check the Chrons posts on Twitter about once a day).

Plus, it saves me always having to come up with a topic, which is great. So, yeah, I'm up for it. :)

And yeah, I think it works. I was talking to a lady who's done blog tours with one of her short stories in an antho I'm also in, and she's had way more interest in her story (cos you can buy them separately too) than I've had in mine.
 
What sort of thingummyjigs are you after?

Reviews, ramblings about the direction of fantasy, rants about X, Y and Z, etc etc?
 
That's a point, actually. If we get enough here to start a reasonable chain, Mouse, we* could start one from the Chrons and let it spiral out. (At the moment, we're mostly getting invited onto ones that are already out there.)

Any topics, anyone? The ones I've seen around are - the writing process which has been all over Twitter for a couple of weeks, and one that's relevant to a specific character/book. I think for the Chrons it's best to avoid book focused ones as if you're on submission or working with an agent you're not allowed to discuss the book, so it rules a few of the Chronners out, so maybe something about writing itself?

Thad, anything at all. SFF related, writing related. Anything. This is my blog: Em's Blog As you can see, there's all sorts of stuff on there. Obvs. I'll get all writing related stuff tagged as writing related and whatnot.

I'm going to ask my friends on Facebook later if anybody wants a spot too, as I know lots of interesting people! (My cousin's a medium, for example. One of my friends is a magician etc.)

Excellent, thanks! Can I hold off for a month? I know I should be getting to see a cover for Shuttered soon, so if I have that to go with the post it'll look better. ;)

I've briefly tried this on a self-published author blog which, I don't think, has any connection to Chron. The topic was pretty broad but was generally writing advice. I wrote from the perspective of an editor and self-taught writer, rather than an author.

However, for my own blog I've done discussions of plotting methods, strategies to get published (other people's, as I've yet to prove any of them, myself), rants and raves on related and unrelated subjects... there was even one about greasing a baking tin which was supposed to be the beginning of a series, but I guess I'm not that into baking, after all!

Anyone who wants to check out my previous guest blog article for a flavour of what was done can find it here. And, as others have said, I'm open to any offers and/or invitations! :D

Updated the look of my writing blog, and planning some new pages once Oracle gets closer to publication. I also need to post on the main blog in the next few days.

I've been fiddling with my blog this afternoon, so I've now included pages that link to my work - including the series for Kraxon Books (which is fantasy) and the series I do for XeiBooks (which is horror/dark fantasy) so I'm not just a soppy romance type.
 
Right - I'm still hosting! I've got a couple of romance authors appearing on my blog soon, but have nothing else slotted in, so if anybody wants a space, shoot me a message.
