Gambit

*sigh* I'm so annoyed about this. I wait years for a Gambit film and then we get Channing fecking Tatum, who's a fat, ugly alcoholic. What was wrong with Taylor Kitsch? I'd read interviews with Taylor where he said he wanted to do a Gambit film, so why'd they go with Channing? ARGH. Where's the angry face smiley?

Channing Tatum is fat? Huh? When did that happen? I thought he's really buff?

That aside, I agree with everything else you said.

what a scathingly unnecessary thing to say Mouse... he might insist he's fat... but he'd be hollywood fat... not regular fat. Everyone in hollywood is addicted to something. Booze is the least of their problems. (even if its true that channing is an alco)
As to why Channing tatum vs taylor kitsch... hmmm big choice... on the one hand a hollywood superstar with significant box office clout, and who'll appeal to male and female audiences (for different or similar ;) reasons)... on the other a former television "star" who tried and failed to create a Gambit we'd all love, and could perhaps at least challenge Wolverine on-screen, and who'se only other major release movies are a monstrous PoS (Battleship) and a non-starter of a sci-franchise (John Carter)... sure he's damn pretty... but Taylor doesn't bring in the dollars like Channing does.

You want a Gambit movie that might actually do some justice, and bring respect to the character? You will not get that with Taylor Kitsch in the role. Its perhaps questionable that Channing will do it either, BUT he is the better of the two options for the opportunity.

Uh, not really. I'm allowed to have an opinion. I think he's fat. Channing himself says he's fat! I'm sure he'll lose the weight before the film. He's got three years.

I disagree that Taylor wouldn't do Gambit justice. I thought he was the perfect choice. I liked his version in the Wolverine film, he just needed a little work and I don't think that was Taylor's fault.

Also, I'd never heard of Channing Tatum before hearing that he was going to be Gambit. I even admitted earlier in the thread that I had to Google him. Whereas I knew who Taylor was before the Wolverine film. So, to me, Taylor's more famous. Besides that Magic Mike film (which I've never seen), I haven't a clue what Channing's been in.

I'll go and watch the Gambit film the day it comes out. I've waited years for it! And I'm sure I'll love it, and I'm sure Channing will have my mind changed, but right now I'm hugely disappointed.
