Think it was written in 70s. Written from the perspective of a boy that lives in britain in what he thinks is WWII, as the story unfolds it turns out that he was never born but is a clone/replicant and him and others like him are part of some experiment living in a WWII scenario, he starts to uncover the truth of his existence.

Think it was more of a teen scifi book
