Does anyone know any names for online 'magazines' that specialise in publishing short Science Fiction and Fantasy Short stories.

Quite a few years ago I had a story published in one and I just wondered if it was still out there - but I can't remember the name of the magazine (doh!)

I'm trying to imagine how I could have a story published in a magazine and then forget the name of the magazine -- even with my horrible memory, it just doesn't seem possible. :D

You'd be surprised, DZ. (But not so surprised at how stupid and frustrated I feel at forgetting).

To be honest I had forgotten all about my previous attempts at writing attempts (A lot has happened since then )

It was only when a friend of mine had a story published in an online magazine recently and I mentioned I might be get jealous (!) and received a slap when he reminded me of back in the day when I'd had a couple published.

I've found two of them, much to my surprise, still there after all this time, but the third one ahhh I really should remember

Are you just looking for the 'forgotten one' (makes a change from the 'Chosen One) or generally looking?

I wrote six articles for a motorcycle magazine in 1996, was it 'Superbike' or 'Bike'? I have absolutely no idea - have to go to the loft and check in the archives...

I'm looking for the forgotten one, in the sense that I've forgotten where it was accepted, I know that it was called 'The Planet Makers' but just can't seem to remember what the 'zine was called.

I'm bound to have a record of it somewhere, but where is the question - even more annoying as I have a record for the other two!

You need to ask your subconscious mind. Sit down, close your eyes, and try to clear your mind as much as you can, then ask your subconscious mind - "Hey subconscious mind, I'd really like to know where I posted that story on the internet, all those years ago." Repeat it three times, and then just forget all about it - the more you push for a memory, the more you push it away. Don't think about it consciously again and your subconscious mind will bring you the answer when you least expect it - it will just pop in. Try it...

Well >some form of expletive inserted< I do believe it worked. I was just sitting there watching Shrek (again) with Perp Jr. and suddenly it just popped right into my head.

It's funny, but typical SF words kept going through my head, Galaxy, Dimensions and then suddenly Demensions!

It seems that there are still a few links to the site, but it is gone... but still my mind can be at rest two out of three stories still floating around in cyberspace after 5+ years is good enough for me!
