Spoilers for the UK viewers.

Colonel Young's consciousness is accidentally switched with an unknown being through a mishap with the communication stones, resulting a standoff between the Destiny and an unknown alien race.

More of the quality and compelling story telling I've grown to expect from this show. Loved the twists, Loved the Aliens, loved the suspense. Loved that Young was stitching his socks. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the mutiny storyline they are building, just doesn't seem to have a good enough reason. And why would Camille team up with Rush? he's the one that got them in this mess. She wants to go home, he doesn't. Unless she's the Lucian Alliance traitor and just wants control of the ship.

Loved this show out of the gates and this episode was no different.

I have been waiting for this to return to UK TV for months (it seems like years) and last night I got to watch this episode. Whilst I loved the new aliens and the action packed adventurous pace of the episode, I felt it tied up the loss of Rush a bit too easily. It would have been better if he had found another way back, they skipped over him surviving on the planet and activating the alien craft, but I was sorely disappointed when he turned up on the alien ship and was easily rescued in one episode. But I'm glad it is back on, looking forward to more from the destiny.

It did feel a bit of a cop-out, his "rescue" being effectively a single line of exposition. The reveal on him in the tank was worth it though.

As an inverse spoiler, the image at the head of this thread does not appear to have been in THIS episode. Presumably a future one...

yeah I expect that alien race will become the bad guys of Universe, at least until they have been completely bettered.

I have a feeling that Rush didn't tell everything that happened to him in the alien ship. Plus I would have felt better if they would have indicated that it's been weeks since Young left him behind.

One thing that bugs me is what Rush told Chloe in the ship on their way to Destiny, is it the truth, or is Chloe clever enough to figure that Young was trying to get rid of Rush by firing everything he got on the alien ship?

What really made me laugh in this episode was Eli's line: "Hey, it's my first real space battle." He is such a gamer, lol.

I don't think Young was trying to get rid of Rush by firing on the alien ship. If Young was, why did he get Rush out of the tank in the first place? Bare in mind here that letting Rush out would make it harder to for Young to get Chloe out. Young might have done it not so much to save Rush but simply to prevent the aliens from have a human captive.

Moments insanity? You know he's making the character more believable by acting first and thinking afterwards. And if you think this seriously, Eli was saying that they were running out of power by firing everything they got on that ship, yet Young demanded to stay on the course.

If he were thinking that at the moment Destiny energy storages hit the minimal threshold level, the ship would jump, then why didn't he said that to Eli? Surely the geek would have understood that better than a grunt pushing the buttons?

What was it that rush said to Chloe on the alien craft?

We don't know, but I can quote this from SG-U wiki

The alien ship begins to attack Destiny again, this time more aggressively. Eli and Brody run to the control interface room, and discovers that the shields will not hold much longer. Young orders Eli to activate the main cannon and destroy the alien mothership, not revealing what he found on board. Eli insists that doing so will drain power from the shields and leave them defenseless, but Young orders him to do so anyway. Scott tries to object, but is overruled, so he takes the shuttle with Greer in the hopes of rescuing Chloe. By then, the shields are half depleted, but the main cannon, which is now operational, has begun firing on the mothership fires several shots to the mothership. However, this action is starting to overload the weapons. Soon enough, one more shot may destroy Destiny in the process. Young, however, is adamant for the ship to be destroyed.

On the alien vessel, Rush easily finds Chloe, and frees her. She awakens in shock to see him alive and well. Having learned the layout of the vessel, he takes her to the fighter bay. Meanwhile, Greer and Scott, having yet to launch the shuttle, notice that the fighters are retreating again, except for one. In the interface room, Brody notices something; the mothership goes into FTL, away from Destiny.

Meanwhile, the lone fighter docks with Destiny. Greer and Scott run to the location to hear drilling noises. The two retreat to cover and brandish their sidearms in anticipation of an alien confrontation. They are surprised to see Chloe jump down to the corridor floor. She reunites with Scott, while a second person jumps down; Rush. Greer is surprised to seeing, since he believed he was killed in a rockslide. Rush merely explains Young got it wrong again. Greer radios Young to report something he is not going to believe. Young knows what this means; Rush is back.

What was it that rush said to Chloe on the alien craft?
ctg's original comment referred to off-screen conversation, since none of the trip that Rush/Chloe took from the alien craft to Destiny was seen.

It's a very good point though: is it feasible that they made their whole escape through the alien mothership, into the small vessel and back to the Destiny without Chloe asking a single question about "but you died in a rock-fall" and the ensuing reply?

It was good to see that the aliens were such wimps, Rush managed to kill one with his bare hands (or did he?) which must mean they wouldn't be a match for the military types on Destiny.

If I put me in Chloe's shoes then no, I wouldn't be able to keep quiet all the way back to Destiny.

Would you? Would any of you?

Because he is a military commander. While in the planning stage of an operation he can explain his orders. In combat, he gives orders, they are obeyed. The soldiers don't need to be given the reasoning behind the order, and the commander doesn't need to explain his orders.
I know Eli isn't a solider, but that doesn't make any difference. Young is a career military officer, taught, trained and drilled as such. Under fire he isn't going to be giving the reasoning behind the orders.

That's a very good point, but you know, he isn't in this position first time even though that was the 'second space battle'. These scientists aren't military operators, and he knows it very well. If he wants to form a battle organisation where he's in Adama's position, then he has to start communication with these people sooner than later. And according to him, "everyone has to adapt," including him.

I don't think Young will be in charge much longer, it'll be interesting if he is ousted and then how much the military will be relied upon when things turn ugly.
