Has anybody read To Sleep in a Sea of Stars ?

I'm about 80 pages in and, while the story is interesting, I find the writing kind of clunky -- especially the "romantic" bits. I am wondering if it is worth the candle or should I move on to the next book on the stack?

I read about 1/3 of it and put it away forever, the interesting bits vastly outweighed by the clunky bits.

Avoid at all costs the second Fractalverse book, Fractal Noise, total cack.
