Interesting article, especially about using "Twitter." I find though that these days, twitter is filled with spammers and bots. Am I alone in this?

There are many ways for using Twitter. If you're clever you will only sign up to follow friends and people you know, and ignore bot sign-ups or (gasp) writers.
