Writing competitions accept simultaneous submissions?

Hi everyone! I'm considering submitting a story to the Fiction Desk and/or Boulevard short stories competitions, but their guidelines don't say if simultaneous submissions are okay.
Is there some unspoken rule regarding this, that I'm not aware of?
Like, is it okay to send a story to a competition and then recall it if it gets accepted somewhere else? Or will that automatically put me into their black list?

Generally, they don't like it. Agents expect simultaneous subs, publishers less so. But you could put a note in the subs letter that it's going in elsewhere.
