Synopsis:

Following the destruction of the Glades and Tommy's death, Oliver returns to the island alone as penance for failing the city and Tommy. Felicity and Diggle arrive and convince Oliver to return, informing him that Queen Consolidated is under threat of takeover and dissolution by Isabel Rochev. Oliver learns a group of vigilantes, dressed like the Hood, are killing others to take back the Glades. They target Oliver twice before kidnapping Thea. Oliver saves her without killing anyone and leaves the vigilantes for Quentin Lance, who was demoted to patrol officer. Roy is also trying to protect the Glades, and is rescued by an unknown blonde female vigilante. Oliver enlists the help of Walter to save the company. As well, Oliver decides to honor Tommy's memory by becoming a hero of Starling City, and elects to find a new name for his alter-ego. In a flashback, Oliver, Shado, and Slade realize they are not alone on the island following Fyers' demise.

A really good episode, plenty of tension, plenty of remorse over the death of Tommy, repercussions over the Glades being levelled, and the continuing issue of relative morality being applied because Arrow had previously killed.

Especially interesting to see Oliver averse to putting the costume back on, refusing to continue as a killer, as per Tommy's condemnation.

Also, back at the island, and a new plot element arises - sincerely hope this isn't going to drag out too much. As it's been a few months since Fyers was killed, surely they could have figured out a way to get off the island in the meantime??

One disappointment was Laurel - at the grave scene, when she met Oliver, she was dressed more like a lass going out for a drunken night out on the pull, rather than a professional worker. More specifically, I believe she mentioned something about blaming Arrow for killing Tommy, claiming that he was caught in a crossfire between archers - but this wasn't the case at all: Tommy tried to rescue her from her collapsing office, and after she got out, and Tommy didn't, Arrow appeared to try and save him. Malcolm Merlyn was nowhere near the scene, and there was no bowfight! Seems like trying to force some manufactured tension, so hope that doesn't play a significant role in what follows.

Overall, though - good beginning.

Oh! And the blonde vigilante! Wasn't expecting that. :)
