Confuddled
Johnny has had a really, really weird few days so a bit of magic really isn't something he is surprised or impressed by and he's making his grandfather, who he only met a few days ago work hard to prove he is a wizard. His grandfather has taken him to a alchemechanics and particle magic testing facility which is basically a derelict house and a secluded beach surrounded by barbed wire and marked "Military Keep Out."
A balloon animal - even if the camel does have two humps - any old clown can do that.
So his grandfather, Gus, picks up some sand, letting it run through his fingers creating a really amazing sandcastle. What fourteen year old is impressed his grandfather can build a sandcastle? (Johnny is impressed but all he gives Gus is a shrug).
Then his grandfather skims a pebble seven times and the pebble then finishes with a massive explosion shooting water into the air. To Johnny this is promising. Telling school bullies you grandfather builds sandcastles isn't going to win awards but that he builds bombs now that could help his situation.
But he's still not showing Gus he is impressed... what should Gus do next? I'm looking for something fairly low key - no tap dancing dolphins or naked women...
