Reverb Publishing has announced that its innovative gaming mash-up of role-playing and tower defence will be out on PSN, Xbox Live and the PC this November.

Developed by Trendy Entertainment using the Unreal 3 engine, the game blends action and RPG elements with multiplayer co-op and tower defence. An intriguing sounding combination indeed.

Up to four players can each take a character, and must use teamwork to defend their castle from hordes of onrushing monsters by summoning defences and traps, but also by getting stuck in and whacking them with great big swords and spells.

Characters can have their stats and skills upgraded, and there’s loot to plunder, equip and indeed customise, giving the player a lot of options in their defensive task. Both online and split-screen local multiplayer will be available.

It looks like a very inventive affair, although the cartoon graphics are possibly a little too colourful for their own good, kaleidoscopic in fact, at times, in the trailer for the game. You can see for yourself here.

Still, it’s definitely one we’re looking forward to having a bash at. Roll on the autumn, and the barrel of gaming goodness it’s hopefully going to bring with it.
