The fresh take on Conan the Barbarian – minus the camel punching Arnie – is ready to roll into cinemas later this month.

We’ve already seen a trailer and Marcus Nispel’s Conan looks very gritty and promising, not to mention every bit as gory as the original was (but with much better, non-eighties special effects).

And if the recent trailer – showing a young Conan taking apart three thugs single-handedly – whet your appetite, then you’ll probably be pleased to hear that a sequel to the flick isn’t just planned, it’s actually already written.

And by Jason Momoa, by all accounts, the actor who plays the new Conan (if the name sounds familiar, you probably saw it in the credits of the recent Game of Thrones, where he played Khal Drogo).

In an interview with Crave Online, Momoa revealed that he was indeed ready to do a second modern Conan, providing that the upcoming first film is well received.

When then asked if there was a story he’d like to see in the sequel, he simply informed the interviewer that he’d already written it!

Whether or not the studio will accept the script is, of course, another matter. And obviously so is whether or not there’ll be another film, as Momoa mentioned.

We’re actually quite looking forward to the return of Conan, we must admit. It’ll be out at your local over-priced popcorn emporium come August 26th.
